Mian Muhammad
Shahbaz Sharif became the 23rd prime minister of Pakistan after winning the
no-confidence vote against Iman Khan. He took oath on April 12, 2022. He is
also the president of Pakistan's biggest party PML(N). He was born in Lahore on
September 23, 1951.
He has served as
the chief minister of Punjab three times, showing how prominent and dominant
political figure he is. No other chief minister has done that much time than
the Shahbaz Sharif.
Early life:
His father,
Muhammad Sharif, was a businessman belonging to an upper middle class and was
born in Kashmir. Later they migrated to Lahore and settled in Jati Umrah.
He started his
early education at St. Anthony High School, Lahore. He then completed his
bachelor's degree from Government College University Lahore (GCU).

Corruption Cases:
The National Accountability Bureau detained Shahbaz on accusations of laundering approximately Rs7,328 million, US$41 million, in a systematic plan involving close colleagues and family members on September 28, 2020. The Bureau had previously placed a freeze on 23 separate properties owned by Sharif, his son, and other family members, alleging that they were bought through means other than known sources of money.
The National Accountability Bureau claims that the
Shahbaz Sharif family utilized fictitious transactions to collect foreign
funds, with the transfers being handled by Sharif's son-in-law, Haroon Yousaf's
firm. Shahbaz was held in custody until his trial. In November 2020, he was
granted temporary parole to attend his mother's funeral ceremonies.
In a corruption
case, the Lahore High Court released him on bail on April 14, 2021.
Total Wealth:
He is the
co-owner of the Itifaq steel mills, from which he has managed to generate a
total of 2.1 million dollars.

He has written a
book named Azm o Himat ke dastan (A tale of resolve and courage).
