Russia has announced to invade
the Eastern region of Donbas, Ukraine. The Russian Vladimir Putin announced
taking to the state media warning that if anyone interfere in its internal issue,
they will face fatal consequences. US president Joe Biden denounced the attack
to be unjustified and unprovoked. The world should hold them accountable said
the US president.
The UN secretary calls for an
urgent meeting amid this mounting tension in which the UN members participated.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has emphasized to Putin to stop his
troops from this unprovoked attack on the Ukrainian region.
Ukraine President Volodymyr
Zelenskyy has talked to the state media saying that Russian president is
reluctant to hold any peace talks and has not replied to his invitation about
any cease fire.
The Ukrainian separatist have
asked for help from the Russian president. US president Joe Biden recently
spoke with Ukraine’s president Zelensky Volodymyr. White House has released a
press statement.
“President Zelensky reached out
to me tonight and we just finished speaking. I condemned this unprovoked and
unjustified attack by Russian military forces. I briefed him on the steps we
are taking to rally international condemnation, including tonight at the United
Nations Security Council.
He asked me to call on the
leaders of the world to speak out clearly against President Putin’s flagrant
aggression, and to stand with the people of Ukraine. Tomorrow, I will be
meeting with the Leaders of the G7, and the United States and our Allies and
partners will be imposing severe sanctions on Russia. We will continue to
provide support and assistance to Ukraine and the Ukrainian people.”
Ukraine's president has announced
martial law, Ukrainian foreign minister says Russia has launched a
"full-scale invasion."
The Russian president urged
Ukraine's military to "lay down its arms." Saying they have no option
but to surrender. EU and NATO are going to held emergency summits. Ukrainian
government is also facing Cyber-attacks from the Russian hackers. The reports
of shelling are coming from across the country. At least 1 died and several have
been injured said the interior minister of Ukraine.
